“Nothing’s harder than being given your chance.” … a quote that hangs in my studio and continues to revisit me as I sometimes find it hard to believe that I’m living my dream as an artist. The marshes and rivers of Boston’s North Shore provide me with endless opportunities to paint on location. When traveling abroad, I try to look at the world with a sharp sensitivity, feeling a degree of responsibility to bring this information home on canvas and share it with others.

Joan is an award winning artist on both the local and national levels. Her work is at home in many private and corporate collections throughout the United States and Canada. Most recently she was chosen as one of seven finalists from an international field in the cover competition for the International Association of Pastel Societies.
